About us
Meet Our Founder
Adewuyi Joel Olorunfemi was born and raised in Nigeria and attended Oyan Grammar School. He was awarded a scholarship to study Marine Navigation, becoming a ship’s officer. After a short career at sea, he emigrated to the UK. He studied law between 1996 and 1999 at John Moore’s University in Liverpool and attended the Manchester Metropolitan University for the Bar Vocational Course, obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Law. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2001. He joined a firm of Solicitors in Liverpool as a non-practicing Barrister, working in their Immigration Department. He acquired tremendous advocacy experience from representing Immigration and Asylum clients at the Immigration Tribunals.
He joined the Law Society in 2005 and continued with his immigration work. As a Solicitor, he continued to acquire more skills, knowledge, and experience, deriving joy from very high success rates for his clients. His role brought him praise from ex-clients and colleagues.
Since 2000, he has specialized exclusively in immigration, nationality, asylum, and Human Rights law and 2011 opened his practice (AJO Solicitors) focusing on the same areas.
Adewuyi is fluent in English and Yoruba but has connections with accredited speakers of many other languages. He says “Experience of 24 years in immigration practice has taught me a great deal about the unsettling effect of immigration concerns on people whose entry and stay in the UK is subject to immigration control. I have thus derived my passion and commitment to immigration practice from serving immigrants and employers of immigrants with dedication and integrity. I am outcome-focused and therefore have the result that will put smiles on a client’s face as the driving force behind my hard work for my clients.”
