This Order implements the recommendations of the Democracy and Boundary Commission Cymru (“the Commission”), which reported in January 2026 on its review of the electoral arrangements for the County Borough of the Vale of Glamorgan. The Commission’s report proposed an increase in the number of electoral wards from 24 to 26 and an increase in the number of councillors from 58 to 59.
